The teenager was allegedly raped by a group of youths on October 19 in a three-story house in Kumarghat. Kumarghat. Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Biplab Debwarma reported that three people, including a woman, have been arrested on the basis of the FIR lodged in the case, but some others are still absconding. In the police complaint, the survivor's mother alleged that a woman from the neighbourhood had taken the girl to Kumarghat on October 19 and kept her at the building where she was gang-raped.
Congress has demanded strict
action against those involved in crime. Former Congress MLA Ashish Saha told
reporters, "A ministerial son's name is coming." So we want a
statement on this issue from Chief Minister Manik Saha. We demand the immediate
arrest of all the accused. "

However, the BJP rejected the allegations levelled against the minister. Because he (minister son) was in Agartala when the incident occurred on October 19, the allegations are completely baseless and politically motivated.
