24X7 Voice9: A 12-year-old boy died of electrocution while drinking water. The incident took place on Saturday afternoon in the Shibpur Kazipara area of Howrah. The accident reportedly occurred due to an electric wire lying on a water filter. The death of a 12-year-old boy has cast a shadow of mourning in the area. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

According to local and police sources, the deceased has been identified as Irfan (12). He is a resident of the Malibagan area of Kazipara in Shibpur. He was the only child of his parents' The child was studying in the sixth grade. He was playing with his friends at a local ground on Saturday afternoon. He went to drink water from a club's drinking water filter as he was thirsty to play. At that time, the child was electrocuted. He immediately fell to the ground. Seeing such a scene, the local people came running.

The child was rushed to Howrah District Hospital for treatment. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead. On the other hand, the news of the incident reached Shibpur police station. Police rushed to the spot after receiving the news.

Investigators are investigating the spot. Police recovered the body and sent it for an autopsy. Investigators are also investigating how the electric cable fell on the drinking water machine. It is also being investigated whether there was any negligence on the part of the incident. The police said if anyone is found negligent, action will be taken against him as per the law.
